From opposite sides of the world, we both embarked on similar journeys. When our paths crossed, it led us to a dynamic partnership and taught us a valuable lesson about success. As Assunta stepped off the plane from Australia, the world shifted into place. Together once again, it was time to build the life that we had talked about. Neither of us were born into the best circumstances. I grew up so poor that we could not even afford to pay attention! However, it was because of those difficulties that we able to build our successes in life. I have always known that things would work out, and even when I had empty pockets, I was able to remain positive and confident in myself and knew that I would succeed. Assunta started in business at a young age, and, after much success in commercial cleaning sales, she opened her own company. Ever since she was a child, she wanted to be the captain of her own ship. With her own company, it fell to her, to steer it through stormy seas, which she did expertly. Her business was extremely successful from the start, focusing on helping customers fulfill a need rather than pushing sales, she created and grew a profitable business over 13 years. One thing she has never been short of is courage – something her grandmother planted in her as a young girl. As a real estate agent Assunta has risen to be a top agent in the office. She has quickly become an expert in how to provide great value to her clients and has also written two books on the subject. Meanwhile, I became a licensed Real Estate Agent in 1974 in Illinois. I quickly rose to Rookie of the Year at my brokerage. I loved what I did, but after a decade, I decided it was time to move to where I truly wanted to be: Florida. I stayed in real estate, but I also explored many other businesses over the years, including teen night clubs and multi-level marketing. I became more successful than I had even imagined as a boy. Then the big short hit. The recession came and took me for everything I had. I had to start all over again. It was not what I pictured for myself, but I never doubted that I could do it all again. Whenever I find something that I am passionate about, I am like cream and rise to the top. Ultimately, that downturn was the motivation I needed to push me 100% back into real estate and channel my passion for it in new ways. With several decades of real estate experience, I decided to go all in and open my own brokerage, and I am Real Estate Agent Emeritus awarded from the National Association of REALTORS®. The day I met Assunta at the airport to begin our life together was not long after I opened the doors to my brokerage. She left behind a successful company, friends, home, family, and deep roots in order to move to Florida. Talk about courageous! She had visited the United States several times over the years and always imagined building a life here. We decided together to build our future from here. Our team has grown exponentially each year, and I could not be happier to work together with my wife, helping our clients reach their real estate goals. Through our journeys, we have learned that with optimism and courage, anything is possible. When not working, we enjoy spending time with our family. Our favorite part of being Real Estate Agent is becoming friends with our clients and helping them put together the pieces of the puzzle to win all their real estate dreams.
